Whitianga Scallop Festival

Due to planned upgrades to the Whitianga Marina and Whitianga Town Centre, Whitianga Scallop Festival will be taking a “Gap” year for 2018. This decision has not been made lightly by the committee but logistics and costs to relocate for one year was not feasible for the festival.
We will be back for 2019, ready to brighten what will be Whitianga’s town centre new look

Prices are $7 for kids under 16, $13 for adults and $35 for a family pass (2 adults + 2 kids) which includes ice skates, helmet, gloves and at least half an hour ice skating (longer if capacity allows).

Opening hours:
Sunday 1 October: 10am - 5pm
Monday 2 October: 10am - 5pm
Tuesday 3 october: 10am - 5pm
Wednesday 4 October: 10am - 8pm
Thursday 5 October: 10am - 5pm

MoreFM will complete the experience with their bubble machines and will have the music cranking. Check out iceskatetour.co.nz for more details.

We enjoyed our selves but you do need to look seriously at some areas. This was our third time at the festival but seems your falling behind not going ahead. So many areas could have been so very much better. It was my birthday so despite these things and the weather we were going to have a good time no matter what. You seriously need to take a good look at future events or you may fall short. You will not be able to ride on the great musical talent for ever as punters can catch them at other venues. Just saying

Agree Derna Bennett. Too many people for area. Queues ridiculously long. Need more scallop morsels. Too many drunks. My husband and I were very disappointed and feel like the $90 was just wasted.

Vanessa Fiona Toni the nemo team won 🐟

I had a great time and will be back next year

Me and my mates had a great time! Perhaps some marquees over the outside tables next time but otherwise a good time 👌

We had a blast and despite the weather made the most of it. A few more ladies toilets wouldn't go astray & yes the queues were quite long but the music was 👌🏾

Don't put your glasses in the dishwasher the writing comes off, I've got glasses from 4 years ago, smaller and the writing stays on? Also no T Shirts? Not much happening in the souvenir tent these days......

I have to agree that while queues were long last year this year they were horrible. While we did brave the weather, we also spent less than 2 hours at the festival before heading off to the lost spring to warm up.
